Doyle Taylor - (1917-2010)

Doyle was born on July 1, 1917 in Flat, Texas to Robert Tate and Lilly Dixon Taylor. He grew up around Owl Creek and attended County Line School.
Doyle was a Brand Inspector for the Texas Cattlemen’s Association, and retired as the oldest inspector in Texas. He retired from farming decades ago and was best known for his fiddling, domino and checker playing, and his home grown vegetables which he sold at local farmers’ markets. He was inducted into the Coryell County Country Music Hall of Fame in 2008.
Doyle was a member of the Belton Church of Christ and also attended the Grace Presbyterian Church with his wife Marion E. Littlefield Taylor of Temple.
