(1924 – 2004) Wayne was born on May 24, 1924 in Coryell County, Texas to the late Grover Cleveland and Jessie White Fleming. He grew up in the Elijah community, now part of Ford Hood. He served in the army during WWII and married Gwen Smith on August 24, 1946. They resided in Cameron for 44 years and he was employed at Aloca in Rockdale for 31 years. Wayne also was active in the Milam County Pecan Association and the 4-H Club of Milam County. Wayne and Gwen moved back to Gatesville in 1998. Wayne was very active in the Pearl Community Center and cooked for the monthly bluegrass music festival in Pearl. |
