The Pearl Book Cottage Just across the driveway from the Pearl Community Center is a cute, cozy little building called the Pearl Book Cottage where all kinds of books and a variety of nice resale items are sold to raise funds for local area charities. ** December Accomplishments ** The year 2012 was a very good year for the Pearl Book Cottage. Linda Ray and Kay Pruett appreciate each customer who came to the book store and made donations which enabled the Book Cottage to help many people in need every month. We met many wonderful and interesting people. In December, we were able to make contributions to each of the regular charities that are listed below, as well as purchase Christmas gifts for 15 "Angel Tree" children. The Book Cottage also was able to help two families in December who had medical needs. The Pearl Book Cottage is open each 1st Saturday during the Pearl Bluegrass event from 10am to 6pm so please remember to stop over and visit. All sales are "by donation" - you determine how much you want to pay for the books or items - and, except for the electricity bill, 100% of the money collected is given each month to help support the good works of charities from 5 surrounding counties.
