Joan Blanchard - (1934-2007)
(1934 – 2007)
Joan grew up and went to school in Pearl. She married Wayne Blanchard in 1954. They resided in Gatesville. He preceded her in death in 1978. She then married Doyle Blanchard in January 22, 1981. She worked in the Coryell County Tax Office for 40 years and served as Tax Assessor Collector for 20 years, retiring in May 31, 1996. She was a devoted member of Mountain Baptist Church, serving as the Church Clerk for 30 years and Sunday school teacher and Vacation Bible School Superintendent for many years.
Joan enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, outdoors, camping and was much appreciated for all the volunteer work she did for the monthly Pearl Bluegrass festivals.
